Trunk-Or-Treat
Every year, the Sunday evening before Halloween, Westminster hosts a Trunk or Treat for neighborhood children. This is a fun-filled evening providing a safe opportunity for families to gather. Games, traditional Frito pie, and decorated car trunks with goodies are available, free of charge, to those participating.
Family Promise
Westminster is a participating church in the Family Promise of Odessa, Inc. organization, enabling homeless families with children the opportunity to gain self-sufficiency. Four weeks out of the year, families participating in the program are sheltered and fed at the church. Church members provide meals and serve as overnight hosts to these families.
food pantry
Westminster Food Pantry serves the Odessa community through its partnership with the West Texas Food Bank. Food boxes are packed the Thursday before distribution and the distribution day is the last Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteers are always needed! Contact us if you would like to become a volunteer.
Nimitz Middle School
Working through the One Accord organization, Westminster has adopted Nimitz Middle School to support with prayer throughout the year. Additionally, we offer aid whenever requested with various needs such as uniforms and school supplies.
Angel Tree
Westminster provides an opportunity for giving to underprivileged children during the Christmas season through the annual Angel Tree project. Church members and friends participate in purchasing gift items, wrapping packages, and delivering these gifts each year to children from various elementary schools.
Christmas in action
Every April, Westminster members and friends join together to rehabilitate a house designated by the local Christmas In Action organization. Repairs most often consist of caulking, painting, and other minor repairs that the home owner is unable to do.
