Food Pantry – Loving Your Neighbor
God instructs His people to care for the less fortunate. This is an essential part of our mission here at Westminster, “To know Jesus and to make Him known.” Our food pantry endeavors to demonstrate the command of Jesus, to “love your neighbor as yourself.”
Isaiah 58:7 provides further guidance. It directs us to share food with the hungry and give shelter to the homeless. Give clothes to those who need them, and do not hide from relatives who need your help.
We have partnered with the West Texas Food Bank to provide food to our friends and neighbors in need. Our food pantry is a “client Choice” model. Rather than just distribute a box, the same box, to everyone, people actually shop in the pantry and make choices on types of foods that they prefer.
Food distribution is the last Saturday of each month between 10 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
If you have questions about volunteer opportunities or how to obtain food, contact the church office at 432-366-1321 or Mitchie Rush at 432-202-7602.
